Sweat Patch in Covington

Did you know?

  • Passive drug exposure does not affect a sweat patch test. In other words, the wearer can be around others using drugs without their test being affected.
  • “Cheating” on a sweat patch test by drinking water to dilute the system actually causes the subject to sweat more and increases the concentration of drugs in the patch
  • Sweat patches collect skin cells as they shed, which eventually causes the patch to lose its stickiness. Most people can wear the patch for 7-10 days.

How Sweat Patch Drug Testing Works

Sweat patch drug testing is a common method for 24/7 substance abuse monitoring, particularly in judicial matters.

The person being tested will be asked to wear the sweat patch for 7-14 days. The patch is assigned a number then tested by our labs.

To ensure accurate testing, the waterproof, tamper-evident patch can’t be removed or reapplied.

Traces of any illegal substances used during the test period collect in the patch, a process the wearer cannot alter. Substances the patch can identify:

  • Marijuana
  • Cocaine
  • Amphetamines
  • Opiates
  • PCP

When the patch needs changed, an ARCpoint Labs of Covington collector will remove the patch, match it up with the correct number to send to the lab (testing will be performed on the used sweat patch). In tests some participants wore their sweat patches up to 14 days, although most people wear them between 7-10 days before they’re saturated with skins cells and lose their stickiness. A new patch will be reapplied, if necessary.

Results can often be returned within a few business days.
